Corsair adds RGB lighting, new logo to 2022’s headset and mouse lineup - furnesswidefirearm

It's official: The old Barbary pirate Gaming swords logotype is dead, replaced with the newer, sleeker version of the Sails logo. You'll go out it emblazoned crosswise all of Corsair's new peripherals, which it unveiled at Gamescom this workweek in Germany.

In addition to a new "silent" mechanical keyboard switch, Corsair's putting out a new bloodline of headsets and a new Scimitar mouse.

Void

Corsair's got a hellhole of a lot of headsets coming out, all under the comprehensive "Nothingness" appoint. The Evacuate line replaces the Corsair H1500 and H2100's standard headset SHAPE with a more angular design—one that's more "ear-attribute," even though information technology looks unearthly arsenic hell. Whol four versions are backed past solid mental synthesis though, with a thick headband that rests a little assuming on the head.

I'm most impressed by the Invalidate Wireless, which Barbary pirate claims gets adequate 16 hours of battery life and 40 feet of range. If those claims pan out out, that's a large step above other wireless options like the SteelSeries H Wireless surgery Astro A50. The Annul Wireless also packs in Dolby 7.1 Audio frequency, though I haven't heard it even so—I hope it works better than the H2100.

Corsair Void USB

The microphone also gets an upgrade, with an LED to indicate mute and peerless to suggest the battery level and which EQ profile you're using on the headset. And A you'd wait with a wireless headset, all the controls are built into the anatomy—thither's a intensity rocker on the left side, which doubles Eastern Samoa a select button to cycle through EQ presets.

What's more interesting is that those headset controls transfer onto the standard pumped USB version as well. Umpteen companies move with inline (a.k.a. attached to the wire) controls for the USB translation, just Corsair's Void USB headset is bad much identical to the wireless interpretation. Leave out, you know, with a wire.

The Void USB and Void Receiving set (likewise as the Unexceeded Bribe exclusive Quash Wireless SE, which comes in yellow and has a USB range extender) also feature 16.8 million color RGB lighting, visible under the Sails logo on each ear.

Corsair Void

The untried Corsair Void mike, with embedded LEDs.

The Void Stereo is the last of the quaternity, and it's a more minimum-down version of the headset. IT attaches through a simple 3.5mm sound seafarer, and frankincense doesn't take up the same RGB ignition effects.

The Void Wireless SE will retail for $150, the standard Void Wireless for $130, the Void USB for $100, and the Void Biaural for $80. That's a little of a jump over the H1500 and H2100, but hopefully improved audio quality will make up for the higher price.

Scimitar

Likewise on the docket is a fres MMO mouse for Barbary pirate. Yes, an MMO black eye in 2022. Corsair's bucking the curve of "fewer computer mouse buttons" to bring around the ol' telephone-launch area side, same as Razer's recent Naga refresh.

And Barbary pirate is kicking Razer's ass with the Scimitar. I'm not a buff of the MMO-style mouse—I don't really need twelve buttons under my thumb—merely Corsair's done its best to bring in the design into 2022.

Corsair Scimitar

The key have? A numberpad that slides punt and away about a centimeter in either direction, allowing you to begin IT in the most well-fixed lay out for your thumb before locking it in place. IT's a large improvement that makes the Scimitar way Thomas More comfortable than whatsoever different MMO mouse I've used, if only because I don't need to stretch my pollex to hit the last wrangle of buttons.

Other than that, it's a standard medallion-grip MMO mouse with a sensing element that goes up to 12,500dpi in software, and multi-zone RGB lighting.

Speaking of which…

CUE

Corsair's also overhauled its Corsair Utility Engine software. Thankfully.

First and foremost, the parvenu Void headsets work with the equal package arsenic the keyboards and mouse, so no need to run two bits of Corsair software on your computer at the same time. Phew.

Barbary pirate's also simplified setting up lighting. All of the advanced features are there, but you can besides just pick a predetermined rule or easy start adjusting nam colors—mistakable to the functionality both Logitech and Razer launched with last year.

Corsair CUE

And as a bonus, you can now connect all three of your Corsair devices if you've got them (sneak out, headset, and keyboard) and have the same pattern recreate out across totally three simultaneously. It looks fancy, though IT of course requires you to be all-in along the Corsair ecosystem.

We'll have many authoritative reviews once all these peripherals go in for review, simply things are looking a damn spate better for Corsair this year than last year. Plus, that current logo. It's so much better.
